How it works
No POS integration, no training manual. If you can take a photo, you can run Den Den Play.
Customers show one QR code
Shoppers carry a single Den Den Play QR in their pocket — no punch cards to forget, no plastic to print.
You scan it with your phone
Any phone with a camera becomes your terminal. One scan checks the customer in, stamps their card, or sells a gift card.
Points bring them back
Customers earn points they can only spend in the network — at your store and your neighbours' — so every reward drives another visit.
One network. Every member sends you customers.
Den Den Play isn't a private punch card — it's a shared rewards network. Every business that joins grows one common pool of point-earning customers, and those customers browse the whole network in the app: your store shows up in Explore, in Nearby, and on your neighbourhood's page. Points earned at other shops become vouchers spent at yours — our userbase becomes your foot traffic.
Discovered by people already playing
Members open the app to check in somewhere every day. The moment you join, you're in front of all of them — with your promos, events, and rewards one tap away.
Why Google cares: local ranking
Higher foot traffic is a strong signal to Google that your business is a trusted, popular choice — its algorithm uses that data to favor you in organic Local Finder and Maps results. Every visit the network drives doesn't just ring the till today; it compounds into stronger local visibility and a stronger business.
Everything a small business needs to keep customers coming back
Digital gift cards
Sell gift cards at the counter in seconds. They live in the customer's wallet, never get lost, and can be gifted to friends with a link.
Stamp cards, digitized
Buy-9-get-1-style punch cards without the paper. You choose the stamp count and the reward; redemption is a scan.
Points on every visit
Set how many points a visit earns and how often customers can check in. Everything is configurable per store.
Promotions with push notifications
Post a promo and every customer subscribed to your store gets a push notification on their phone — instantly, for free.
Events with RSVPs
Announce tastings, launches, and sales. Subscribers get notified and RSVP so you know who's coming.
Live billing & analytics
A real-time dashboard shows check-ins, points issued, gift cards sold and honored — and exactly what you owe, to the cent.
Pay only when it works
Most loyalty platforms charge a monthly subscription whether customers show up or not. Den Den Play bills for outcomes, in plain numbers:
Points you issue
1.4¢ / point
You choose how many points a visit earns (a typical setting costs ~35¢ per check-in). Pause any time — paused visits cost nothing.
Gift cards you sell
Face value
Billed at 100% of the amount — money the customer already paid you at the counter. No cut taken on the sale.
Vouchers you honor
+85%
Honor a network voucher and receive 85% of face value as a credit — the network literally pays you for foot traffic. And vouchers are built to protect your margin: they're redeemed in full in a single visit and can't be stacked with other discounts or promotions.
No subscription. No terminal. No setup fee. One monthly statement, itemized to the cent.
Live now in Ottawa
Growing street by street, starting in Chinatown
Den Den Play isn't a faceless SaaS — it's a local rewards network. Shops like Den Den Claw and Paninaro on Somerset are already checking in customers, and every business that joins makes the network more valuable for the rest: points earned anywhere can be spent with you.
Put your store on the mapFrequently asked questions
How much does a loyalty program cost for a small business in Ottawa?
With Den Den Play there's no subscription and no hardware. You pay 1.4¢ per point you issue (a typical visit costs you about 35¢), and when you sell a gift card it's billed at face value — money you've already collected from the customer. That's it.
Do I need new hardware or a POS integration?
No. Your existing phone or tablet is the scanner, and customers use their own phones. There's nothing to install at the register and no integration project.
How do digital gift cards work for my store?
You scan the customer's QR and enter an amount; the card appears in their Den Den Play wallet instantly. When they come back to spend it, you scan the card's code and the balance updates in real time. Cards can also be shared as gifts by link.
What happens when I honor a voucher from the network?
You receive 85% of the face value as a credit on your account — the customer standing in your store was brought to your door by the network, and the remaining 15% is how the program funds itself. Vouchers are also profit-friendly by design: they must be spent all at once in a single visit (no balance carried over) and can't be combined with other discounts or promotions, so customers typically spend past the voucher's value at full margin.
What do my customers need to participate?
A free account — they can sign up with email, Google, or Apple in under a minute, on the web or in the Den Den Play app. No cards to carry, nothing to print.
